Spartan Armor Systems® Non-Ballistic Trauma Pads utilize extremely light micro-cellular urethane foam padding that significantly decreases back face deformation and dissipates the impact energy sustained on your plate armor, reducing the transmitted force to the operator’s body. Additionally, our trauma pads dramatically increase comfort and ergonomics while wearing body armor. Simply put, the Spartan Armor Systems® Trauma Pad will drastically reduce blunt force trauma by absorbing energy over the increased surface area of the pad.

Increasing Comfort While Decreasing Trauma

Back face deformation has the potential to occur when a round impacts any type of body armor. This energy transfer has the potential to be felt regardless of which advanced Spartan Armor Systems® body armor ballistic panel you decide to protect yourself with. In minor cases, the result is bruising around the area of impact. However, in more severe cases back face deformation can result in serious bruising, skin puncture, internal bleeding, and even broken bones.

Though most of Spartan Armor System's body armor has inherently good energy disbursing properties throughout the strike face, our advanced Trauma Pads will further mitigate energy transfer and back face deformation hazards which your body may absorb. The added benefit of the sleek and thin .25” Trauma Pad is increased comfort and mobility, as the pad itself serves as a cushion between body armor plates and the operator.

Spartan Armor Systems® Trauma Pads are constructed utilizing highly durable and comfortable Nylon Ripstop fabric, the same material BDUs are made from. We recommend the use of trauma pads with all body armor, especially ceramic body armor which is more prone to back face deformation.
